Is DMARC a one-off job?
No. Reaching p=reject is a project, but staying there is ongoing. Teams add new tools that send email, providers change how they authenticate, and DNS records get edited. Any of those can quietly break alignment and either let impersonation back in or start junking your real mail. Monitoring is what catches it.
Why monitor after reaching p=reject?
Because your sending changes over time. A new marketing platform, a migrated mail system or an edited SPF record can start failing without anyone noticing until customers stop receiving mail. Continuous monitoring flags the change while it is a small fix rather than an outage.
Do I need this for one domain?
Yes. A single domain is still a target for impersonation and still subject to Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft authentication requirements. SenderLedger is free for one domain, so protecting a single domain properly costs you nothing.
